Review: SANA Pore Vacuumer Hot Cleansing Gel

ok, I'm really really glad I waited to do this review, cos when I first tried out this product it didn't seem to do much, other than feel nice and warm when I wash my face (its winter here *brrrrrr*). But after 4 weeks, washing my face with it 2-3 times a week, a difference is noted; esp yesterday when I manually cleaned the pores on one side of my nose (and got half a Rudolph reindeer nose) before applying a layer of SANA pore vacuumer and leaving it one for 5 minutes, then a quick massage in small outward circles and rinse with warm water. I then tried to manually clean out the pores on the other side of my nose and !!!! there was less than half the sebum that came out of the other side!

Err, am I making this confusing?

I mean to say that this thing actually works but you just have to use it 2-3 times a week for a few weeks. Even better if you combine with a pore pack treatment once a week.

Make sure you tone and moisturise after or your skin might dry out and get flaky if you live in drier climates!

~

Use on dry skin, apply all over face avoiding eyes and leave on for 5 mins, then massage and rinse off with warm or tepid water...
...the gel is actually clear with tiny brown particles that warm and scrub.

Depressing but great movies on DVD...

We went to Video Ezy to grab some flicks for the long weekend as we decided to really relax and do nothing but walk, eat and watch movies.

I ended up picking Jackie Chan's Shinjuku Incident, Steven Spielberg's Artificial Intelligence (I saw this almost ten years ago I think) and Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs.

Haven't seen the last one yet but GEEZ are they depressing movies or not??!! But they're so good I just have to watch them right through!!!

And to make matters worse, Will Smith's 7 Pounds is on TV now...

Anyways, nothing beats a good flick that gives you a sniffle here and there.

Botika in Adelaide

One of my favourite boutiques in Adelaide is Botika, at 234 Rundle Street. If you own anything from this gorgeous little shop, you're more than likely the one and only unique girl as their designs are one-off pieces, up to date, and the price is as good as the quality. Now, that's what a gal wants!

They don't have a website but if you search under Botika Clothes Adelaide you will find lots of fab reviews ^_^

Here are some pics of my favourite casual piece from botika ~

...See my pretty red BROMELIADE in the background? Its not too happy with the heater but I hope it lasts to summer!...

I'm a HOODIE girl. Even my bathrobe has a HOODIE.

Confession: I haven't cooked brekkie for us in a loooooong time!

I just have to put this one up, its one of many other which I stuffed my face with and didnt even take a picture!

Pete's the breakfast masterchef and I lose hands down to him, am never fast enough to serve all the items hot for some reason; its always either cold eggs or hard cold toast, or gross cold oily sausage and undercooked bacon.

I can make pancakes to die for though ^_^

English muffins, sauted fresh button mushrooms and sunny side up free range eggs, hot winter brekkie for me <3

Geo Extra Forest in Brown

I'm so excited about my new GEO Extra Forest circle lenses, they arrived in the mail today along with Princess Mimi Bambi in apple green. I really wanted to try out the Forest series in pink but they didnt have it in my power..... >_<~

In fact I was so excited that I ripped open the lens bottles before taking pics *_* BIMBO or not!

Anyhow thank you EyeCandyLens once again for having the design and also diopter range for blind cats like myself!

These are my first Extra lenses after trying out the Super sizes, of which my all time favourite is the GEO Super Angel in Brown.

My personal opinion, the super and extras are much much more comfortable than the regular sizes, and the vision is clearer as the pupil view area is larger. The regular ones sometimes go crossed eyed or blur your vision in less bright conditions.

For the full gyaru effect you'll need to add your falsies, and prob a bit of eyeshadow blending and nose contouring. I took these after work and where I work its quite conservative so I don't do falsies on a daily basis.

Anyways, here are the pics ^____^  !

close ups with flash...

...please do note that no one is gonna look at your eyes this close in normal daily life...

..with flash...

..without flash in the evening, and you can still see the effect. Cool~!

Review: Super Quick lip concealer in nude beige

After Maxi BonBon lip concealer, which has ended up at at the back of the drawer because it kept coming off too soon, I'm now on a mission to find a lip concealer that acts as a moisturising lip balm as well as a natural looking concealer, with either a nude or pink tinge.

I was tossing up between Heavy Rotation and this one and tried this one out for now, because the girl at Kawaii said it is moisturising and also natural, i.e. a bit sheerer than a complete concealer, which is what the Heavy Rotation one is.

Now, I am still not too sure about really nude lips on myself as my lips re quite full and my skin is not snowy white, which means very light lips can make me look, well, a bit too catwalk/in your face for normal city day wear....and I don't really go to nightclubs much so I want something that I will find useful.

The tone of the concealer is the key - IT MUST GO WITH YOUR SKIN and HAIR COLOR.

Verdict: I actually quite like this one, and would recommend you try it out if you are testing the waters with nude lips. I'd even do smoky eyes with it but keep blush to a minimum.

It stayed on really well too cos I tried it out at an engagement party.

I like it!  What do you think?

bare lips

one layer of super quick lip concealer - my lips were really dry and I exfoliated as much dead skin off as I could, otherwise one layer would've been smooth enough as seen on my top lip.

two layers...

after too many champagnes and much later on that night...
I hope you found this helpful!

Review: Tsubasa DollyWink Eyeliner in Black and Liquid

Have you found an eyeliner that

A) does not smudge badly or fade all day
B) Does not stain your skin
C) Removes easily and gently
D) Looks tres tres mignon in your make up bag

???????????????????

I've found mine and I cannot get enough of it! So much so that I think I've reviewed it twice, cos sometimes you really like a product the first time round but then still go and try some other brand, only to realise that you had it right the last time round -_-

Pics~

Making the most of EVERY milimetre ^___^ <3

Review: Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse

OK. For the first time in my life, I wear foundation almost everyday now, just on the centre of my face - nose, cheeks, between the brows and chin.

Why?

Because I have found the perfect bargain high quality product that cuts it for me.

I hate feeling like I'm wearing makeup; worst - I hate seeing that I am wearing foundation, and my skin looks dry and powdery - not nice for Adelaide's dry climate.

This foundation promised baby smooth skin. And it was under $25 so I thought, why not? I think I'm at an age where foundation will do me good, great skincare regime or not, and I've tried many many many drugstore brands over the years, none of which satisfy my quota: light, TRULY NATURAL, and under $30.

And I have FINALLY found it!

Second best to this is ZA, but it is more suited to a night out, matte look. For everyday wear I still want a slightly dewy base, cos lets face it, if it looks close to perfect it is natural and hence - 'maybe she's born with it'!

Of course, don't neglect your cleanse, tone, moisturise and SPF 30+ beforehand ^__^

Here are some pics to prove it~

one layer, how real is this???!!!

From a slight distance it looks like NATURAL SKIN!

Even my beau agrees xxx
