Inked

Since my life is rather boring at the moment, I've been keeping track of this little blondie's doings to keep things interesting...

After lots of discussion and thought over the last couple of months, the appointment was made for yesterday morning. I promised I'd go so I dragged my woozy head out and managed to (also put on some makeup to look alive) take some good pics!

OMG, hospital made my head bigger.....

This doodle was done a year and half ago...in a dark basement with jazz playing and candles burning (and a clothes dryer keeping the room warm).

Pink Kisses...

Yup, that's what these variety of POTATOES are called!

I could not help but give those pink puckers a smack!...

...and so did the little one!!!!  - everybody together - AWWWWWWW!

Coiffeur, je t'aime - part II

I managed to not get left out for a pamper session too :o)

I said 2.5 inches off, but he did 5 cos it 'needed' it...LOVE the colour!!!

Coiffeur, je táime!

My colleague was badly in need of a rescue after The Parlour messed up the haircolor she wanted. Being young and beautiful and daring, she braved up and requested a white blonde color with heavy bangs - the bangs turned out great, but the color (done by a 'colorist') turned out a solid one color of an orangey...like an amber blonde. Hating to go back and actually pay them to fix their mistake, I suggested that my own Coiffeur can give her hair what she wants.

She decided that her fling with boldness had taken a turn and requested a natural look. Her natural color with blond highlights.

So we went shopping for the colors which looked nothing like what she wanted (apparently there is a science to haircolor, like, where does the dark color go when you lighten it? It doesnt wash out in the sink...so what happens to it?!!), and saturday lunch time my man workSshis magic...

you can see the orangey tone that was distressing my friend here...

...uber hot!...

...this is THE product for luscious hair apparently...

...good 'ol trustworthy gadget that was lost in my car boot for 4 months!

Barenecessities - face

There are many things a girl cannot live without...actually too many to name in one posting! Lets just do everyday face in this post, no?

I'm not into the nudie look - it somehow makes me look ill unless I wear foundation and powder with it (and I HATE wearing foundation...will hold off as long as my age allows me to!); But I do love the au naturel/fresh look -
  • bitten lips
  • blushed cheeks
  • fresh eyes
  • groomed brows and
  • simple released-from-bun hair for my everyday identity.

Barenecessities face...

-Blistex Strawberry lip balm to give my man that yummy sweet strawberry taste after a smooch *wink*

-Natio (I strongly support their concept) 'Love Me' tinted lip balm for that full lipped, matt glossy and slightly bitten look.

-Loreal Beauty Tubes - If it weren't for LBT, I would never have bothered to wear mascara daily, ever. All other products, no matter how much I have been willing to risk paying, have managed to smudge, and worst of all are yucky to remove.

-Revlon ColorStay brow enhancer in Blackened brown - comes complete with a highlighter you can dab on you inner eye corners and lower lid to give you that I-just-woke-up-from-10hrs-sleep look!

-Maybelline Line Stylist in Black Sparkle - now this, I have gone through a whopping 3 of (I have never finished any makeup product other than two ColorStay black eyeliners). I replaced the first one with a slate waterproof liner from MAC and (gasp!) MAC loss PANTS DOWN to this little sexy baby! Line Stylist does not smudge, is not waterproof (washes off very easily), does not need sharpening, and has a nice sparkle through it that actually brings out the sparkle in my eyes (as if?)! ***And most importantly, DOES NOT STAIN THE EYE AREA (darling, you'd be surprised where your dark eye circles come from esp. if you wear eye makeup often)***    hint-warm up pencil before use

-Natio blusher in Rouge Glow - this is similar to my carry around Bourjois Rose de Jaspe blusher, but with more of a reddish-pink tone (great for Asian coloring) than apricot-rose tone.

-Nivea Q10 anti-wrinkle day cream SPF15 - not pictured -(this wins hands down over a Jurlique and Olay moisturiser I've tried; but is on par with the Dior Hydraction cream). I tend to have drier skin in winter and much prefer the slightly glowy look than the matt sandpaper look that's kinda in fashion now (we're talking about style here, not tendance my dears, remember?!! refer to my first posting )

So now, I can at least pull my stuck stiletto heel out of the pavement without worrying about looking drab at the 5pm public transport run!

Hybrid/micro four thirds system camera - tres tres sexy!

I'm proud to introduce my new Olympus PEN EPL1 hybrid cam (and its name is Oliver)!

It took me a while to decide between a digiSLRcam and a hybrid but in the end, the hybrid won the glory. I needed a cam that could point and shoot with great art settings and scene settings, but at the same time, it had to provide SLR quality pics and also provide me with more control than an conventional digicam would. Plus the digiSLRcam is waaaaay tooooo bulky for me!

This baby even comes with a little pop up flash!

To test this sexy gadget out we took a drive up to the Barossa Valley - Chateau Yaldara Winery!

13'C and full sun, Adelaide winter days are beautiful...

...test shot...

...the harvested vines awaiting spring...

...Chateau Yaldara, looks like the mansion I want to live in...

NB: I didn't feel well enough to go wine tasting. I'll have to do that next time!

Doctor says...

Not feelin ok today. And seriously very sick of looking into the toilet bowl...went to doctors and did full check up as have been feeling exhausted for the last week and half. Was worried that might have got sick from that flu shot everyone was raving about (my first flu shot ever too!). Did blood test urine test BP test question answer test the LOT.

So I stayed in bed.

And got very very bored.

...no makeup *wince*...

...all I had for brekkie was a cuppa.

fringe you

1.5 weeks in and I cannot stand it anymore already! My level of concentration is shot as I constantly pull it out of my eyes...can't stand can't stand it can't stand it!

Whilst searching for a headband, I found these pink kiddie clips and they are so small they grab every annoying wispy bit of fringeing on my head. And they're tres mignone!

Now, lets venture onto the Parade and take note of level of public acceptance...*-*

...too many...
...that's better, not so spastic.

Antipodes vase

I first spotted these gorgeous table water bottles at Mantra in Hyde Park a few years ago, and during the 2009 King William Road street party I came past mini Antipodes with sparkling New Zealand mineral water!  Now, I would not have a clue how much you'd have to pay for this water but the bottles when empty are, well, free if you ask nicely to take them home. And they make stunning vases!

Here I've arranged some gorgoeus dusty pink roses my man suprised me with at the Adelaide Markets (I really should be able to guess what he's up to when he disappears at the Markets by now but I am delightfully suprised every time...no one's done that for me before *blissful smile*).

They now grace my bathroom...a delightful treat for a sunny winter morning!

$ ≠ S[tyle]

Over the decades the great designers/fashionistas/artists have repeatedly adviced - "True style is within the individual". Being a natural born consumer with a heartful of enthusiasm, I shall embark on a little experiment to proof that $ ≠ Style to try to maintain the happiness of my wardrobe, my home, my palate and my little blue leather purse!
